Remodelling an existing bungalow with new blockwork, re-framed openings and cantilevered canopy slabs for a bolder, modern frontage.
The challenge
Giving a dated single-storey house a contemporary look while working with the existing structure and boundary wall.
Our solution
We re-framed the window openings, raised the walls in new sandcrete blockwork and cast reinforced canopy slabs over the openings for shade and a strong horizontal line.
Outcomes
- Existing building retained and remodelled
- Cantilevered canopy slabs shade the new openings
- Raised walls ready for a modern roof profile
